Job Details

Our client is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to support the development and enhancement of customer-facing digital applications. This individual will work as part of an agile engineering team building highly scalable, cloud-native applications that support millions of users across there ecosystem.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in Java development, microservices architecture, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with experience building enterprise-scale distributed applications.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong expertise and hands-on experience with Java technologies including Core Java, J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL database development and integration.
• Good experience using Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, including GitHub Actions.
• Working knowledge of large-scale, cloud-based application architecture, infrastructure design, and implementation.
• Experience with Splunk and Grafana is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications 
• Build and enhance cloud-native microservices using Spring Boot and Kafka.
• Develop secure, high-performing APIs and backend services deployed on GCP.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and production support activities.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and engineering best practices.
• Monitor application health and performance using observability tools.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience building enterprise Java applications.
• Experience developing cloud-native applications in GCP.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
